DEAN MANTY ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Koskey Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 17, 2026.Dean Eric Manty, 53, of National Mine, passed away early Friday evening, March 13, 2026 at his home.Dean was born September 23, 1972 in Washington, D.C. to Peter Lee and Rita Marie (Culbert) Manty while his father was stationed there following the Vietnam War. Dean graduated from Westwood High School, Class of 1991.An avid fisherman and deer hunter, Dean enjoyed being in the UP's great outdoors.He held various jobs throughout his working career; CCI, The Stonehouse Window and Door, and most recently at Willey's Tire Shop.Surviving are his loving companion of over 30 years, Heidi Hastings; his mother, Rita Culbert; his sister, Kally Manty; nieces and nephews: Jack Goldsworthy, Beau, and Brenna Kaikkonen; and his beloved dog, Scooter. He was preceded in death by his father.Honoring Dean's wishes, no public services will be held.
