Dean Alan Preston

Dean Alan Preston, 70, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on March 2, 2026. Born on February 3, 1956, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, he was the middle child of Robert Harry Preston and Anna Preston, who died early in his childhood. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Mary Helen Preston.

Dean was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Donna Carol Preston (Gibson), his parents and stepmother, and his brothers, David Preston and James Gregory Preston (Teddi Preston). He is survived by his daughter, Leslie Carol Hassler (Shaun Michael Hassler); his granddaughter, Abigail Claire Hassler, whom he cherished as the absolute love of his life; his sister, Edie Preston; his brother, Robert Karl Preston; and several extended family members.

A graduate of Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University, Dean built a varied career that spanned musical instrument repair and general management. He took special satisfaction in mentoring young men and women as they developed their professional paths. In the later years of his life, he found deep fulfillment volunteering at Baptist Health, where he was able to help others in meaningful ways.

Those who knew Dean will remember a man who lived with quiet purpose, devotion to family, and a generous spirit. He has now found peace and happiness reunited with his wife, Donna.
