As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Deaconess may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the echoes of her kindness, the warmth of her embrace, and the light of her enduring love.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Macy E. Hendricks, Sr. and Emily Hall Hendricks; her husband Robert Douglas Hunter; and her siblings, Belvie Jean Hendricks, Daniel Hendricks (Peter Rabbit), William Hendricks (Bill) and Macy E. Hendricks, Jr..

She is survived by: her son Antonio DiQuell Hendericks (New Hamshire) of Somersworth; her grandson Jeremiah Rashawn Hendricks of Newport News, Virginia; and her siblings, Marie Sykes of Sedley, Geraldine Cox (Gerry) of Mount Holly, Mitchell Hendricks (Beatrice) and James (Loot Toot). She is also survived by sisters in law, brothers in law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 14th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Hickory Grove A. M. E. Zion Church (1419 Mariner St, Franklin, VA 23851).
