Deacon Paul Joseph Reilly Deacon Paul Joseph Reilly, 87, of Norwalk, CT, passed away on March 14th, surrounded by his family. Born in Norwalk, on March 22, 1938, Paul was the fourth of ten children. His loving parents, Thomas Francis Reilly and Winifred Morton Reilly, taught him faith in God, service to others, and love of family. He graduated from Norwalk High School in 1956 and proudly served in the U.S. Army in the early 1960s. Paul was a master carpenter - a skill he learned from his father. As a builder, he took great pride in the homes and the relationships he built through his work. He was widely known for his generous spirit and dedication to helping others. A devoted member of the Roman Catholic Church, Paul answered a deeper calling later in life when he was ordained as a Deacon in the Diocese of Bridgeport. Through his ministry at St. Philip Church, he served faithfully- preaching, administering the sacraments of baptism and marriage, and sharing the Lord's Gospel with compassion and faith. Those who knew Paul will remember him for his zest for life, his humor, and his big heart. He was extremely proud of his Irish heritage and could often be found at the Gaelic American Club, enjoying music and dancing. He was a talented banjo player and delighted in playing at family and church gatherings. Above all, Paul was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, mentor and friend. His greatest joy came from time spent with his family and in ministry. He was predeceased by his beloved wives, Peggy O'Rourke Reilly and Barbara Koeppen Reilly; as well as his dear brothers, Dan Reilly, Brian Reilly, and Jack Reilly. Paul is survived by his four loving daughters: Kathleen (John) Piccard, Anne (Jim) Urkawich, Elaine (Jeff) Blanco, and Karen (Dan) Guerra. He was the proud and devoted grandfather to nine wonderful grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Thomas Reilly, Ann Driscoll, Claire Boyle, Gene Reilly, Richard (Marilee) Reilly, and Carol Reilly. Paul will be deeply missed by his many extended family members, parishioners, and friends as well. Visitation will be held at Collins Funeral Home in Norwalk on Thursday, March 19th, from 4 -8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Philip R.C. Church on Friday, March 20, at 10 am, with burial to follow at St. John's Cemetery. "Well done, good and faithful servant."
