David William Beard

David William Beard passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at the age of 80.

Beloved husband of Sylvia Beard (née Storey) for 53 years, he was a tender and loving partner who cared for her devotedly at home through her battle with cancer from 2022 until her passing in 2024. He was the loving father of Deanna (Etienne) Davignon and Lauren (Jonathan) Baker, and the proud Papa of Nathan, Saskia and Sophia Davignon and Julia and Patrick Baker. David is remembered as the younger brother of the late Bruce (Wendy) Beard and John (Hilda) Beard, and as a dear brother-in-law to Robert (Marilyn) Storey and John (Karen and Cecile) Storey. He was fondly loved by many nieces and nephews.

For nearly 59 years, David owned and operated Beard's Farm Supply, the business he and his brother John founded in 1967. A natural entrepreneur with strong business sense and exceptional people skills, he continued working full time alongside his sons-in-law Etienne and Jonathan. Even after losing Sylvia, he drew strength from his faith and made it his priority to be a daily, supportive presence in his children's and grandchildren's homes.

David loved to travel and held a private pilot's license in his younger years. A good and godly man, he left a lasting legacy through his hard work, devotion to family, and quiet faith. His family and friends remain in shock at his sudden passing from a brain bleed while on vacation in Arizona, yet they rejoice knowing he is now with his Lord and Saviour.
