Shelbyville, TN
David Wayne Warren, age 67, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, passed away on March 10, 2026, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Jesup, Georgia.
Born on December 4, 1958, in Bedford County, David was the son of the late Oddis B. Warren and Emma Gladys Woods Warren. A graduate of Shelbyville Central High School, Class of 1976, he began his career with Tyson Foods in 1979. Over the next 46 years, he advanced to the role of environmental supervisor, retiring in January 2026 after a lifetime of dedicated work.
David found deep satisfaction in the rhythms of country life. He tended a hobby farm, raised cattle, and planted a vegetable garden each year. He especially enjoyed operating his tractors and participating in the annual dove hunt. Above all, he took pride in his land and the simple, honest pleasures of farm life.
A devoted family man, David and his wife Daisy opened their hearts and home to 98 foster children over the years. He cherished his role as a proud grandfather and looked forward each year to hosting his traditional chili supper for family and close friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Daisy Taylor Warren; sons Christopher (Terri) Warren and Bryan Warren of Shelbyville, and Brandon (Hannah) Warren of Jesup, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Christopher, Aiden, Hailey, Jeffery, Daisy, Ellie, John David, Henry, and Madalyn; and his siblings Judy (Jimmy) Cooper, Jimmy (Brenda) Warren, Joyce (Billy) Lewis, and Betty Walker, along with many nieces and nephews.
