David W. Matthews

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of David W. Matthews of Steubenville, Ohio, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 7, 2026 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Matthews and Jessie Mae Wilburn Matthews; and his siblings, Ronald Dean Matthews, Joyce Rine and Betty Jean Ruttencutter.

He is survived by: his sons, Rick Matthews, Gary Matthews (Sharon) and Todd Matthews (Patty); his grandchildren, Elizabeth Berry (Joe), Todd Matthews, Caitlin Matthews, Justin Matthews (Chandra), Rebekah Matthews and Ashlee Stevenson (Patrick); and his siblings, Donald Matthews (Donna), Dorothy Denhart and Earl Calvin Matthews. He is also survived by four great-grandchildren & one great-great grandchild.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 11th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home (215 Fernwood Rd, Wintersville, OH 43953). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 11:00 AM.
