He was born on October 28, 1946, in Hollybush, Ky to the late Dow and Dovie Huff Short.David is survived by his Fiancé- Betty Mosley; Daughters- Natasha Campbell (Bret Martin Jr.), Debbie Sturgill, Cari Leigh Moore (Ronnie Darrell Slone), Sheila Stamper (Hastel); Son- David Wayne Short; Brothers- Emil Short, Boyd Short, Palmer (Deb) Short; Sisters- Gracie Pouget, Rosetta Pratt, Nancy Craft; Grandchildren- Zach, JD, Justin, Aurora, Ariel, Hunter, Halen (McKenna), Shelbie (Chandler); Great-Granddaughter- Everleigh; Special Nephew- Kyler; Special Friend- Gary (Blondie) Short; A Host of Nieces, Nephews, Family & Special FriendsDavid is preceded in passing by his Parents- Dow and Dovie Huff Short;Brothers- Clinton Short, Rondell ShortThe family will receive friends from 6PM-10PM Tuesday March 17, 2026, and continue all day Wednesday March 18, 2026, at the Nelson-Frazier Funeral Home Chapel in Hindman, KY with service each evening at 7PM.Funeral Services will be on Thursday March 19, 2026, at 1PM at the Ivy Point Old Regular Baptist Church in Garner with Eugene Thacker and others officiating. Burial will follow at the Ivy Point Cemetery in Garner, KY.
