David Richard Lane

David Richard Lane, affectionately known as Ricky, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2026, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, at the age of 66. Born on May 30, 1959, in Greensboro, North Carolina, he spent his life in the triad region, working as a mechanic by trade. Ricky’s deep passion for sports, music, racing, and cars shaped both his work and his cherished hobbies.

Known for his free spirit and infectious sense of humor, Ricky never met a stranger. He had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like a lifelong friend, and his jokes and easygoing nature brought joy and laughter to all who knew him. Proud of his native roots, he embraced his heritage and shared it warmly with those around him.

Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Lane, and his mother, Betty Tucker Lane. He is survived by his brother, John Lane (Susan), his daughters Kasey Scott (Brandon) and Kristen Wooten (Avery), his son Ryan Lane (Aimee), his granddaughters Harper Scott, Scarlett Sparks, and Magnolia Sparks, his grandson Colton Scott, and his partner Michele Williams. Those who loved him will continue to cherish his memory and carry forward his spirit of kindness, laughter, and love.
