David Ray Revels

David Ray Revels, 66, of Follansbee, West Virginia, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at WVU Medicine, Weirton Medical Center.

Born on November 26, 1959, in Lumberton, North Carolina, David was the son of the late Mary Lois (Revels) Byers and Ronald H. Byers. A graduate of Brooke High School, he worked for many years in the By-Products Department at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation.

He will be remembered for his deep love of the Pittsburgh Steelers, whose games he rarely missed, often coaching from the couch with unmatched enthusiasm. He also followed the Pittsburgh Pirates and enjoyed watching true crime programs. Yet nothing brought him greater joy than his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life. The time spent with them filled him with pride and created memories he cherished deeply.

David is survived by his sons, Joshua Revels and his wife, Kate Montgomery, and Tyler Revels and his companion, Alyssa Bowmaster, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Aurora June and Tristan James Montgomery-Revels; his longtime companion, Liz Stevens; his siblings, Sonya L. Byers and her companion, Jim R. Worrell Jr., and Ronald H. Byers II and his companion, Vera Eger; and several nieces and nephews.
