He was born to Lucille Blakely and Reuben Porras.David built a successful career as an interior decorator, property developer, and rancher in East Texas. He was known not only for his craftsmanship and entrepreneurial spirit, but also for his genuine enjoyment of working with his hands and connecting with others. He had a natural gift for conversation and thrived on customer interaction, forming lasting relationships wherever he went.He had a deep love for dogs, friends, and especially his mother, with whom he shared a long and loving bond. David was full of life-he loved hosting gatherings, entertaining, and bringing people together. His energy and enthusiasm for living were truly contagious, and he found joy in sharing life's moments with as many people as possible. David cherished his time in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, a place that brought him peace and happiness. Despite facing daily mobility challenges over the last 15 years of his life, he remained determined to stay active, productive, and supportive to those around him.In his final years, David lived in his home in Las Cruces, New Mexico, under the care and companionship of close friends. Even then, he continued to pursue his entrepreneurial passions, running a successful eBay store where he sold refurbished leather belts paired with finely crafted sterling silver and gold buckles.David will be remembered for his warmth, determination, generosity, and unwavering zest for life. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
