He was predeceased by: his parents, Dow Burgess and Martha Burgess (Lynn); his mother-in-law Theresa Proben; and his brother-in-law Mark Proben. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Burgess; his daughters, Kellie Burgess (Benjamin Lennemann) and Rebecca Powell (Jeff); and his granddaughter Kaycee. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (3060 Casey St, Lewiston, MI 49756). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, March 13th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
