March 30, 1948— March 12, 2026
Cincinnati, OH
David P. Stryker, a devoted family man and respected community member, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026. Born on March 30, 1948, Dave led a life marked by kindness, many long-lasting friendships, humor, and a deep commitment to his faith and family.
A graduate of Thomas More College in 1970, Dave’s dedication to hard work was evident and he enjoyed a career in grocery management. His professionalism and warm personality left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. Known affectionately as the "Puppy Dog", David’s talkative and funny nature brought joy to those around him—his Donald Duck impersonation was a particular highlight cherished by many.
Dave’s proudest accomplishments were his family and his faith. He was a loving husband to Ruth Stryker (nee Wilson) for 55 cherished years. He was a devoted father to Lauren (Robert Schaub) McDermott and Tony (Jaime) Stryker and a proud grandfather to Maeve, Colton, Kenzie, and Lucy, who were his pride and joy.
Dave thoroughly enjoyed tennis and watching the Reds and Bengals. Most importantly was Dave’s strength in his faith. Once retired, he often lectored at St. Dominic, his parish for many years.
Dave is survived by his siblings Mary Kay (Lou) Kroner, Joe (Jo Ann) Stryker, Father Peter Stryker, Chrysa Key, and Paula (Tom) Wanninger. He also leaves behind brothers- and sisters-in-law: Marsha Ladenburger, Joy (Chris Miller) Bennett, Janet (Dick) Chaney, Jeff (the late Jonna) Ladenburger, and Mimi (the late Greg) Ladenburger. He was a cherished uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marcia Stryker, his in-laws, Fred and Norma Wilson and his brother-in-law Ron Bennett.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Dave’s life at a visitation on March 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at St. Dominic Church Gathering Space, located at 4551 Delhi Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238. A Mass honoring his memory will follow at 10:00 AM.
Dave's legacy is one of laughter, devotion, and unwavering love—qualities that will remain in the hearts of everyone privileged to have known him. His memory will continue to inspire through the stories shared, the lives he touched, and the faith he so generously lived.
