David P. Oeffner

David P. Oeffner, 66, of Jackson, New Jersey, passed away on March 7, 2026, at Morristown Medical Center following a brief illness. Born on March 4, 1960, in Red Bank, New Jersey, he spent most of his life working in construction and enjoyed a period of semi-retirement in recent years.

Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Martha (Collins) Oeffner, his brothers Marc and Edward Oeffner, and his sister Carol Velotti, David is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Michelle, his son Vaughn, his sister-in-law Kathy Oeffner, his brothers-in-law Michael and Jerry Softcheck and their wives Linda and Nadine, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.

David will be remembered for his quick wit and playful teasing, his passion for playing guitar, and his deep love of science-fiction movies that matched his wife’s own enthusiasm. He took great pride in his children, who grew into loving and caring individuals, fulfilling the hopes and dreams he held for them.
