David Fisher ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Criswell Funeral Home - Ada on Mar. 2, 2026.David Michael Fisher "Fish"David Michael Fisher – "Fish" – was born on August 7, 1982, at Valley View Hospital in Ada, Oklahoma to Terry John Fisher and Julie Marie Langley Fisher. He passed from this life on February 27, 2026 at the age of 43 years near Atwood, Oklahoma.Raised by his mother (who he considered strong, unfailing and a little bit scary), Fish attended schools in Ada, Latta, Byng and eventually Allen, where he graduated with the class of 2001. He played for the Allen Mustang Football and Basketball teams, and was a huge fan of the OU Sooners as well as the many variations of Professional Wrestling. After high school, Fish played for the Oklahoma Outlaws football team, played a lot of 3-on-3 ball, and truly found his calling in life working with the Allen Mustang Athletics Program.Fish loved music of all types, especially country music, and was a talented dancer – a skill that he sharpened during his younger years while working as a bartender and bouncer at local venues as well as other establishments. Fish was also an exceptional cook. His skills on the flattop grille were legendary, and his ability to create delicious food with interesting flavor profiles always made for a great dining experience.Fish was a big man, imposing in stature, but fun-loving and gentle in nature – and a friend to nearly everyone he met. He had a gift for remembering faces and names, and a way of making everyone he encountered feel like they mattered… because to Fish, they did.On May 29, 2011, Fish married Stephani Marie McMullen of Moss, Oklahoma and during the course of that union they added a son, Daigan and a daughter, Langley. Even after going their separate ways, they remained friends, and were an excellent example of how co-parenting can work.At the time of his death, Fish was employed by the Chickasaw Nation as an HVAC Supervisor, a job in which he found much success and a great deal of satisfaction. He was proud of his affiliation with the endeavors of the Chickasaw Nation and thankful for the opportunities that came his way while working there. To the end, Fish was a true-blue, ride-or-die, 'til the fat lady sings Allen Mustangs FAN. One of the very last things he did for the Mustangs was to deliver a pep talk to the boy's squad as they were headed to play-off games with a State Tournament berth on the line. He implored them to dig deep, to leave it all on the court… to "be that Dawg". He was so proud and excited to have had that opportunity and was SO looking forward to seeing the Mustangs qualify for the State Tournament… we like to think he got to see them punch their ticket to The Show from the best seat in the House.David was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Corky and Joyce Ray, and his niece, Morgan Frances Batey. He is survived by his best friend and mother of his children, Stephani Fisher, his children Daigan and Langley Fisher, parents Julie and Jeff Ray, sister Jill Batey and husband Ron, sister Jessica Cooper and husband Curt, nieces Taylor Batey, Cameron Batey and Maggie Cooper, nephews A.J. Batey, Tucker Batey and Connor Cooper, his maternal grandparents, Vernon and Carol Langley, as well as a host of Langley, Ray and Fisher uncles, aunts and cousins. He leaves this world forever grateful for the coaching, mentoring and friendship of Greg and Julie Mills, as well as for the memories made with his many, many friends.A Celebration of Life for Fish will be held March 5, 2026 at 2:00 pm in the new Allen Gym – his home away from home, Chad Kaminski officiating. Burial will be at the Allen Cemetery. Pallbearers are Justin Holder, T.R. Kanuch, Brandon Laxton, Kanan Matthews, Jody Murray, Brad Wofford and Cebern Young.
