David “Mark” Sather, age 71, of Centreville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Fairfax County, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 17, 1954, in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to Roger L. Sather and Patricia A. Pfoutz, Mark enlisted in the United States Navy at the age of 17. Above all, he was a devoted Catholic and family man who placed his loved ones at the heart of his world.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Mark is survived by his wife of 23 years, Pura; his children, David (Heather), Matthew (Cristina), Marcelo, and Stephanie; his grandchildren, Katelyn, Aedan, Grace, and Noah; his brother Michael; his nephews, Jason and Samuel; and his beloved pets, chocolate lab Rosie and bird Beau, all of whom he cherished deeply.
