No services are scheduled at this time.David was born on March 11, 1947, in Jackson County, Alabama to Julius and Vennie Cantrell Maynor. His early years were spent with his parents and siblings in Pisgah, Alabama. David was a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from serving his country, David married Peggy Hawn, and together they raised their children, Jesse and Rose in Muscle Shoals. Shortly thereafter, David and Peggy made Cherokee, Alabama their home and they lived there for thirty-eight years. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. The joy of his life was spending time with his family.Preceding David in death were his parents, Julius and Vennie Maynor, his beloved wife, Peggy Hawn Maynor, daughter, Katherine Rose Maynor, brothers, Charles and Kenneth Maynor, and sisters, Lillian Dilbeck, Lois Bryant, Pauline Jones, and Evelyn Roberts.Those left behind to mourn him the most include a son, Jesse Hawn and wife Alison; sisters, Bernice Roden and Glenda Sims; grandchildren, Chelsae Hawn, Chandler Hawn, Raney Hawn, and Collin Maynor; great grandchildren, Waylon Robnett, John Robnett, Scarlett Robnett, and Jesse Maynor; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at www.dav.orgTo plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
