David M. Greenfield

David M. Greenfield, 71, of McKownville, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on May 17, 1954, to Milton and Beatrice (Van Voorhis) Greenfield, he grew up in the company of his siblings Milton Jr. “Bucky,” Kirkland, Herman, Fredericka “Ricky,” and Ronald. He graduated from Guilderland High School in 1972 as senior class president. He was married twice, first to Ruth (Sheehan) Greenfield and later to Jeanne Gruenberg. He is survived by his daughters, Hilary (Greenfield) Yodis and Tracy (Greenfield) Mayer, and his grandchildren, Breana Charlotte Yodis and Julian Vincent Mayer.

David cherished his family, friends, and neighbors. He attended Temple Israel Hebrew School, was bar mitzvahed there, and remained connected to the Temple throughout his adult life when he was able, including taking a Birthright Israel trip with the congregation. A man of sharp intellect and quiet humor, he excelled at Jeopardy!, rarely missing Final Jeopardy, and found lifelong joy in baseball—particularly as a devoted Mets fan—music, and telling bad jokes.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
