David Lee Crider, 94, passed away on March 11, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on September 18, 1931, in Bartow County, Georgia, to Harley Lee and Elmira Lorena Crider, David grew up with the values of resilience, humility, and devotion that would shape his entire life. He served his country with distinction in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Technical Sergeant. After his military career, he continued contributing through work in construction and later in Civil Service, approaching each endeavor with the same quiet dignity and strong work ethic that defined him.
On April 14, 1966, David married Brigitta M. Breidbach, his beloved wife and partner of nearly sixty years. Together they created a warm and loving home, raising a family grounded in connection and strength. David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose gentle presence and steady guidance touched everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife, Brigitta M. Crider; sons Steve Richard Crider and David Lamar Crider; daughters Sara Diane Almand (Johnnie) and Andrea Hildegard Owen (Roland); six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Deborah Suzanne Gray. David’s kindness, integrity, and deep love for his family will live on in all those he leaves behind.
