David Larry Smith, age 76, of Loudon, passed away on March 13, 2026. A United States Army veteran, David found deep joy in fishing and classic cars. He was a talented woodworker and a skilled fabricator who could fix or build nearly anything, spending more than 36 years at Maremont.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Margie (Watts) Smith; his daughter, Melissa; and his siblings, Polly Johnson, Danny Ray Smith, Kyle Smith, Tony Smith, and Ed Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Smith; his son, Matt Smith and wife Rhonda; his granddaughter, Selena and husband Colby Arney; bonus grandchildren, Gage Lefler, Candace Vann and husband Allen, Deana Luckett, and Matthew Hillsberry; great-grandchildren, Maddie, Jax, Emerson, Avonlea, and Adalynn; his brother, Glen Smith and wife Penny; his sister, Linda Trollinger; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
David will be remembered for his quiet competence, his generous spirit, and the steady love he gave to his family.
