David Joseph McCarron

David Joseph McCarron

Dothan, AL

David Joseph McCarron, known to his family and friends as David, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026, in Dothan, Alabama. Born on May 5, 1942, in the Irish countryside, he immigrated to the United States at the age of 16, settling first in New York where he completed high school. His path then led him to New Jersey, Texas, and Virginia, where he worked as a facility coordinator for Sacred Heart before opening and successfully operating his own HVAC business, Temperature Tamers. A skilled handyman and jack of all trades, David approached every task with diligence and ingenuity.

He found deep joy in the natural world, whether listening to birdsong, fishing, or camping with his children. His hands were rarely idle, always engaged in fixing, building, or improving something for those around him. A devout Catholic, David lived his faith with quiet conviction, offering kindness and compassion to everyone he met. In his final months, he moved to Dothan to be cared for by his loving family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 33 years, Claire McCarron, and their children: Anne Liptak (AJ), Therese Brown, Bernadette Kincheloe (Patrick), Mary Heisler (Timothy), Margaret Asselin (Cliff), Catherine McCarron, Rose Simpson (James), David McCarron, Jr., John Paul McCarron (Anna), Jacinta Sherman, Joseph McCarron, and Dolores Jordan. David was a proud grandfather to Thomas, Katie, Sean, Mara, Abbey, Mac, Denise, Ian, Kolbe, Marie, Ailish, Gabby, Kylie, Casey, Nathan, Kayla, Alina, Teagan, Logan, Noah, Ryan, Dylan, Devyn, Nolan, Ronin, Sagan, Cole, and Luke, and a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brothers, Aiden and Brenden McCarron, his sisters, Anne Ward and Betty Blanchard, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Nora McCarron, and his sister, Frances Reilly.
