He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Irene K. Thomas (Balla) and Donald J. Thomas; his wife Diane J. Thomas; his brother Jim Thomas (Cynthia A.); his godson Richard Soderholm (Raquel); and his parents-in-law, Marilyn J. Barker and Wayne C. Barker.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Homes - Joliet (3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431).

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in David's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
