David J. Plzak

David J. Plzak

April 3, 1949 March 13, 2026

Green Bay, WI

David Plzak, 76, of Green Bay, Wisconsin passed away in his home on March 13, 2026. Even though David had a booming voice that could be heard the length of a city block, he was a gentle giant that was more silly than stern and could have conversation with almost anyone about any topic.

David was born in Antigo, Wisconsin, where he started as a cable splicer with GTE. He met and married Gena Thompson in 1970 and they had three kids together.

Dave dedicated his career to computer security and retired after more than 40 years of service. He was a kind, caring man which showed in how he treated family, friends and even strangers, volunteering as a fireman for 6 years in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin. Dave had an innate ability to make friends in every room he walked into. He would have you laughing at his crazy stories and his ridiculous "Dad" jokes. He was smart, often pulling out answers to trivia questions nobody else knew, but also so funny and sarcastic that you could give him a hard time when he accidentally drove down a wheelchair ramp when driving out of a parking lot. David was a loving husband, father, son and friend and will be greatly missed by anyone who was fortunate enough to have met him.

Dave is survived by his wife, Gena; his three children, Dale, Heather and Heidi; four grandchildren, Bryce, Caleb, Eleanor and Abigail along with sister-in-law, Arlene and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Marcella Plzak; brothers Gerald (Romelle) and Daniel. There will be a Celebration of Dave's life at Mackinaws Grill and Spirits in Green Bay on April, 18th from 2pm-5pm.
