Wayne, MI

David J. Lawrence, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, in Wayne, Michigan, at the age of 72. Born on April 2, 1953, David lived a life defined by deep devotion to his family, a lifelong passion for the outdoors, and a distinguished career as an engineer at Ford Motor Company. His innovative thinking and willingness to share his expertise earned him the lasting respect of his colleagues in the automotive industry.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 53 years, Martina, who shared every part of life with him. David is also survived by his sister Laura and her husband Michael, and his nieces Julie Perron and Karen Becker, whom he loved as daughters. His faithful companions, Rudy the dog and Tuna the neighborhood cat, will miss his gentle presence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Loretta Lawrence.

An avid fisherman and motorcyclist, David found peace and joy in nature and on the open road. He and Martina created many treasured memories at their cabin up north in Hillman, Michigan, surrounded by the woods and the quiet sounds of the lake. Above all, David was known for his loving, generous, and selfless spirit. He was always the first to offer help or comfort to those around him, and his quiet strength and warmth touched everyone who knew him. He leaves behind a rich tapestry of memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
