David Henry Edwards Jr. passed away on March 14, 2026, at Penn Highlands Dubois Hospital. Born on March 5, 1937, in Reynoldsville, Pennsylvania, to the late David Henry and Ethel C. (Freedline) Edwards, he graduated from Reynoldsville Area High School and married Gertrude Louise Lockwood on June 18, 1960. Gertrude preceded him in death in 2003.
David proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1975, completing three tours of duty and serving in the Vietnam War. He retired after twenty years as a Master Sergeant. A member of the American Legion in Reynoldsville and the Eagles in Falls Creek, he remained deeply connected to his community and fellow veterans throughout his life.
He is survived by his four sons, Scott (Dawn) Edwards, Ron (Ginger) Edwards, Jim (Erin) Edwards, and Joe (Tina) Edwards; four brothers, Floyd (Ginger) Edwards, Jerry (Sandra) Edwards, Bob Edwards, and Larry Edwards; a daughter-in-law, Brenda Edwards; ten grandchildren, Craig, Cory, Ronnie, Lee, Becky, Jayden, Jeremy, Cheyenne, Adrian, and Brooklyn; and eleven great-grandchildren, Marina, Tyrone, Cory Jr., Kallen, Skylar, Sawyer, Jaime, Lee Jr., Axl, Hayden, and Elijah. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard and Jim, his son Bill Edwards, and his grandson Jamie Taube.
