David Edward Rogers, a longtime resident of Lake City and formerly of St. Petersburg, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 93. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, to the late William Loren and Margaret McFarland Rogers, he served his country with distinction for twenty-four years in the United States Army. A veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam Wars, he earned the Bronze Star and retired with the rank of Sergeant First Class. In civilian life, he worked for many years as a security guard. Mr. Rogers lived a life marked by duty, quiet strength, and devotion to his family. Those who knew him will remember the steadfast presence he offered to his wife and children across nearly four decades of marriage and through the years that followed.
