David Morris ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Henderson & Sons Funeral Home - South Chapel - Rome on Mar. 16, 2026.Mr. David Edward Morris, age 79, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at a local hospital.Mr. Morris was born in Rome, Georgia on January 7, 1947, son of the late Charles Edward Morris and the late Freddie Roberts Morris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Laura Jean Wilson Morris, and by a stepson, Jeffrey D. Mullen. Mr. Morris was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving during the Vietnam War. He worked as a factory worker for many years. Mr. Morris was a member of Rome First Church of the Nazarene and the Caledonia Lodge #121 F&AM in Cedartown. He enjoyed fishing, especially Trout fishing, and hunting.Survivors include a sister, Debbie Smith (Wayne); a brother, Dennis S. Morris (Brinda); four stepchildren, James E. Mullen (Donna), Jerry L. Mullen (Connie), Jana L. Mullen Collins (Morris), and Joleah Mullen White (Eddie); 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 nieces & nephews; 15 great nieces & great nephews.Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, at 2pm in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Rev. Tem Frierson and Rev. Wayne Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Floyd Memory Gardens with the Rome American Legion Honor Guard presenting military honors and the Caledonia Lodge #121 F&AM presenting Masonic Graveside Rites.The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Sunday from 3 until 5pm.Pallbearers are asked to assemble at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, on Monday at 1:30pm and include Kyle Morris, Tyler Wade, Steven Smith, Ethan Mullen, Noah England, and Ethan Smith.Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, is honored to serve the family of Mr. David Edward Morris.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
