MARION, VADavid Daniel Blevins, age 80, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, VA. David was born in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late Marion and Ethel Dolinger Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Peggy Hopkins Blevins; his brothers, Carroll Blevins and Sammy Blevins; sister-in-law, Kathy Blevins; and his brother-in-law, Tim Brown. David was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years as a skilled brick mason, helping construct numerous local factories and homes throughout the area. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, tending to his flowers, and spending time on the open road riding his motorcycle.He is survived by, his two daughters, Cheryl Keefer & husband Ken and Betsi McGee & husband Mark; grandchildren, Josh Keefer, Kacie Martin & husband Andy, Hunter McGee & wife Priscilla, and Derrick McGee; brother, Jonithan Blevins & wife Shirley; sisters, Virginia Rush & husband Emmett and Ruth Brown; sisters-in-law, Glenna Hurley and Jane Blevins; one great grandchild on the way; several nieces, nephews, special cousin Bobby Blevins, and a special friend Harvey Rowe. Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 13, 2026, at Laurel Springs UMC Cemetery with Pastor Mike Sage officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of David. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley’s Funeral Home of Marion is serving the Blevins Family.
