March 2, 1971— March 4, 2026
Huntley, IL
David Charles Stevenson, known lovingly as Dave, passed away on March 4, 2026, after a months-long battle with heart failure. Surrounded by his family and loved ones, he left for his next adventure when his body could no longer continue. Born on March 2, 1971, in Abington, Pennsylvania, to Charles and Darlene Stevenson, Dave moved with his family to California, where his sister Jen was born, and later to the Chicago area.
From his earliest years, Dave found joy in simple pleasures like racing Big Wheels and Hot Wheels down the driveway. His childhood interests grew into a lifelong passion for Legos and gaming. He graduated from Palatine High School, where he played the tuba in the marching band, and continued his studies at the University of Illinois, Northern Illinois University—where he met his wife, Heather—and Harper College. He spent 27 years at Trondent Development as Director of Client Solutions, where his colleagues became like a second family.
Dave had a gift for making friends everywhere he went. His close group of childhood friends remained a steady presence through every stage of his life. Above all, he cherished his family. He married Heather Kilroy in 1995, and together they raised two children, Alan and Nora. He is survived by his wife Heather; their son Alan, a senior at Illinois State University; their daughter Nora, a junior at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities; his mother Darlene Stevenson of Elgin, Illinois; his sister Jen Jameson and her husband Will of St. Johns, Florida; and their children Sarahbelle, Chase, Faith, Elise, and Lillianna.
