David C Kanouff

David C. Kanouff, 68, of Gas Center, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 1, 1957, in Indiana, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late David S. and Anna (Goldberg) Kanouff. David lived a life deeply rooted in family, friendship, and quiet strength.

He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Kathy Lichtenfels, and a dedicated father to his children: Adam Kanouff and wife Melissa, Anthony Kanouff and wife Dana, Angela Szentmiklosi and husband Andy, Kathy Jo Bowers and husband Dusty, Tami Jo Brown and husband Damion, and Tina Lichtenfels. David is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he cherished, as well as his sister Theresa Reinard and husband Jeff, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

David worked for 25 years with the Homer City Police Department and also as a coal miner. He found joy in playing the drums with several area bands, riding his motorcycle, and hunting. Known for his hard work, love, and dedication, he faced life’s challenges with grace and resilience, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
