David C. Kane

David C. Kane, age 83, of Rockbridge, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Pickering House in Lancaster. Born on December 4, 1942, in Lancaster to John and Gleneth (Smith) Kane Jr., David built a fulfilling career as a welder with a special talent for crafting wood stoves. He found great joy in hunting mushrooms and expressed his creative and artistic spirit through woodworking and metalwork.

He shared a devoted marriage with his wife, Caroline, with whom he would have celebrated 62 years in July 2026. David is survived by Caroline (Cavinee) Kane; his daughters, Jan (Tim) Noice and Julie (Mike) Landfried, both of Rockbridge; sister-in-law Juanita Kane of Laurelville; cousin Twila (Tom) Huber of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers John Wesley Kane III, Robert Kane, and Gary Kane Sr., and sister Judy Kane.

At David’s request, a celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of his family.
