David Allen Fowler passed away peacefully on March 13, 2026, surrounded by his family. Born on October 30, 1947, in White Cloud, Michigan, to Trella and Kenneth Fowler, David graduated from Plainwell High School in 1965. He served his country with distinction during the Vietnam War, earning a Bronze Star for his bravery.
He married his high school sweetheart, Bonnie, and together they raised two daughters. David dedicated 35 years of his career to MDOT as an inspector. He cherished time spent with his family, enjoyed traveling, and took great pleasure in scouring flea markets for treasures.
David was preceded in death by his parents, his sister-in-law, and his great-niece. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; two daughters; five grandchildren; his sisters and brothers; in-laws; and many nieces and nephews. In a note he left for his family, David wrote, “Just know that I love you all and it has been a life well lived.” He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
