Sun City Peachtree, GA
David Johnson Aguirre, 74, of Sun City Peachtree, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Wellstar Spalding Hospital. Born on May 6, 1951, in San Benito, Texas, he was preceded in death by his father, Eugenio Aguirre, his mother, Victoria Johnson Aguirre, his brother Bill Aguirre, and his sister Margaret Aguirre.
David was known for his ease, humor, selflessness, and deep devotion to his husband John, his family, and his wide circle of friends. He had a rare gift for making others feel brighter in his presence. Over a remarkable 47-year career as a flight attendant with Western, Braniff, and Delta, and through his many interests and acts of service, he lived a full and vibrant life. He cherished music and the arts, loved learning, teaching, and encouraging others, and found joy in storytelling, good company, and connecting with people. Though his life began in San Benito, the warmth of his love and the impact of his spirit reached far across the world.
He is survived by his husband, John Peter Pund; his brothers and their spouses, Daniel (Patty) Aguirre, John Aguirre, and Rick (Gracie) Aguirre; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews who will carry forward his memory with affection.
