David Andrew Snider, 53, of Strasburg, Virginia, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Winchester Medical Center.David was born in 1973 in Winchester, Virginia, the son of Henry I. Snider, Jr. and Brenda (Taylor) Snider. A graduate of James Wood High School, Class of 1991, David was a man of many talents and deep faith. Known to many as "Chaplain Duke," he was a "Traveling Preacher" who served at Salem Baptist Church in Berryville, VA, at a church in Paw Paw, WV, and attended River Mont Baptist Church in Front Royal.A devout Christian and gifted artist, David expressed his spirit through drawing, playing the guitar, singing, and composing his own songs. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing, served as a hunting guide in Montana years ago, and cherished hunting trips to West Virginia with his father. He had a passion for motorcycles, specifically his Harley Davidsons, and was a member of the Redeemed Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. David never met a stranger and will be remembered for his creative soul and his love for his canine companion, Pooh.He is survived by his parents, Henry and Brenda Snider of Woodstock, VA; his paternal grandmother, Myrna Snider; his children, Brittney Wright (James), Ashleigh Carver (Aaron), Taylorann, Madeleine, Kaylee, Zakkery Snider (Ashley), Daniel Snider, Elijah Snider, and Isaiah Snider (Anna); eight beloved grandchildren; and his brother, Steven Snider (Kim).He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Henry I. Snider, Sr., and maternal grandparents, Charles and Mary Taylor; granddaughters, Ann Marie and Virginia Flora.A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a funeral service to be held the following day, Friday, March 20, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. all at Omps Funeral Home, Amherst Chapel, with Pastor Justin Dove officiating.
