David A. Blue

David A. Blue, 90, of Circleville, passed away on March 8, 2026. Born on July 2, 1935, in Circleville, he was the son of Chester A. Blue and Irene Dreisbach Blue and one of six children. He graduated from Circleville High School in 1953. A longtime member of Heritage Nazarene Church, David cherished greeting and welcoming others there. He owned Blue’s Furniture and, as a boy in middle school, served as dispatcher for his father’s taxi cab service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Velma J. (Swackhammer) Blue, and his sisters. David is survived by his wife, Charlene Harrison Blue; his daughter, Jill (David) Brown; his sons, Mark and Shawn Blue; and his stepsons, Rodney (Renee) Shaw and Steven (Carol) Shaw. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

He found great joy in watching Ohio State basketball and football, following his beloved Cincinnati Reds, and especially in attending his great-grandchildren’s basketball games, baseball matches, dance recitals, and school presentations. His family held him in deep affection, and he will be remembered fondly by all whose lives he touched.
