Daryl Len LongRey
October 10, 1966— March 7, 2026
Chattanooga, TN
Daryl Len LongRey, age 59, passed away on March 7, 2026. Known for his quiet nature, kind heart, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures, Daryl found joy in the things he loved. A lifelong enthusiast of science fiction, he enjoyed watching Star Wars, Star Trek, and episodes of The Big Bang Theory. He also took pleasure in working puzzles and building Lego sets, pursuits that reflected his thoughtful and patient personality. Though naturally introverted, he deeply cherished the time spent with family and friends.
Becoming a father to his son, Andrew, was one of the proudest moments of his life. He also took great pride in serving his country as a member of the Army National Guard. For the last eleven years, Daryl lived at Standifer Place in Chattanooga due to illness. There he formed meaningful connections with those around him, especially enjoying conversations about football with Dale and Barry. He always looked forward to visits from his sister Maria, who brought meals he particularly loved—especially anything with bacon. His playful sense of humor kept the nurses smiling as he joked and talked with them.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte Raygor; his father, Roy LongRey; his uncle, Barry Jackson, who was like a father to him; as well as his Uncle Ray and Aunt Pat.
Daryl is survived by his son, Andrew LongRey; his sister, Maria Foreman (Dale); his brothers, Eric Raygor and Jerry Raygor (Jennifer); five cousins; and his aunt, Judy. He will be remembered for his quiet spirit, his love for his family, and the gentle laughter he shared with those who knew him.
