Darwin F. Border, 79, of Fleetwood, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Penn State Health, St. Joseph Medical Center in Bern Township, Pennsylvania.
Born on September 29, 1946, in West Reading, Darwin was the son of the late Franklin K. and Luella (Reed) Border. He served his country with honor as a Specialist 4 in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. A 1964 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, he earned a degree in electrical technology from the Wyomissing Polytechnic Institute and worked for 35 years as an industrial electrician at Carpenter Technology. A longtime member of Becker’s St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Molltown, Darwin found deep joy in hunting, fishing, arrowhead hunting, and foraging for morel mushrooms.
He is survived by his sons, Joshua L. Border and his wife Jaime L. Baver of Fleetwood, and Ezra D. Border and his wife Carrie A. (Tosh) Border of Fleetwood. He also leaves behind his grandchildren Collin J. Border, Noelle K. Border, Ashley O. Border, and Autumn N. Border, his great-grandson Bryson, his sisters Lucille Sauer and her husband Richard Sauer, Darlene Hardy and her husband Wayne Hardy, Janice Hardy, and many nieces and nephews.
Services for Darwin were held privately by his family.
