Darrin Ray Martin

Darrin Ray Martin

Passed March 11, 2026

Lititz, PA

Darrin Ray Martin, 54, of Lititz, passed away on March 11, 2026, after a courageous five-year battle with MSA. Born in Ephrata, he was the son of Ned and Grace (Esch) Martin. He was married for 28 years to his loving wife, Renée (Hoffer) Martin.

Darrin graduated from the Penn State Sheriff’s Academy and dedicated his entire career to law enforcement. He served with the Lancaster County Prison for six years, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office for fourteen years, the York County Sheriff’s Office for three years, and most recently at the Lancaster County Youth Intervention Center. Those who knew him will remember his deep love for Jesus, his family, and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching sports, playing chess, listening to 80s music, and savoring crab legs at the beach. Darrin took great joy in coaching his sons’ football and baseball teams and brought a competitive spirit to everything he did, whether poker, fantasy football, Rook, softball, board games, or ping pong. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend, he lived his life in service to others. His feisty personality and playful banter will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife Renée; their four children, Brett, Eric, Ryan, and Ashley Martin; his brother Clint Martin (Lori) and sister Valerie McClain (Brad); his parents Ned and Grace Martin; his in-laws Chuck and Sondra Hoffer; brothers-in-law Chris Hoffer and Brad Hoffer (Nickie); and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
