Darrell Dee Kinsley, 78, of Belen, New Mexico, passed away at his home on March 9, 2026, after a courageous battle with ALS. He was surrounded by his wife, Mickie Kinsley, his brother, Richard Kinsley, and close friends.
Born in Nebraska to Lloyd E. A. Kinsley and Lola V. Kinsley (Smith), Darrell later moved with his family to California, where he met and married his eternal companion, Michelle Dee Kinsley (Chilson). He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle; his oldest daughter, DeeDee, and her husband, Kevin, along with their children, Patrick, Maria, and Christopher; his youngest daughter, Temple, and her husband, Scott Mitchell, along with their children, Aubri and Justin; his older brother, Richard Kinsley; his nephew, Ken Kinsley; and a large extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Both of his parents preceded him in death.
Darrell worked as an electrician and honorably served in the United States Army and the U.S. Army Reserve for more than 22 years, including multiple overseas tours. He found great joy in working with youth and cherished time spent outdoors hiking and hunting. He was also an avid model railroader and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes.
Darrell was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be profoundly missed.
