Darlene Mae "Tootles" Exline

Darlene Mae “Tootles” Exline, 75, of Sharpsburg, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown.

Born on January 27, 1951, in Hagerstown to the late Frances Mae (Waters) Houser, Darlene spent her working years as a seamstress for London Fog, later at Good Humor Ice Cream, and most recently at Battleview Market in Sharpsburg. She found simple joys in playing bingo and scratch-offs and cherished the time she spent with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Exline, in 2010, her mother, her stepfather George Houser Sr., her brother Charles Allen, and her maternal grandparents Raymond Waters and Charlotte Allen.

Darlene is survived by her son, Jeremy Exline of Sharpsburg; her sisters Kathy Gay (Jerry) and Peggy Ecton of Sharpsburg, Gail Basford (Joe) of Keedysville; her brother George Houser Jr. (Johanna) of Knoxville; and many nieces and nephews.
