Darlene J. Grubb

June 23, 1959 March 14, 2026

Greenville, OH

Darlene J. (Keaser) Grubb, age 66, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the EverHeart Hospice Care Center in Greenville, following a courageous battle with bulbar-onset ALS.

Born on June 23, 1959, in Union City, Indiana, Darlene was the daughter of Marie (Kaiser) Keaser of Greenville and the late Charles “Charlie” Keaser. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Ellie Keaser.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 28 years, Greg Grubb, whom she married on May 16, 1998; her children, Justin and September Grubb of Covington, Michelle and Andy Poeppelman of Yorkshire, and Thomas and Hannah Shaw of Fort Recovery; her cherished grandchildren, Spencer and Kayce Poeppelman and Eleanor Shaw; her mother, Marie Keaser; her siblings, Terry and Marge Keaser, Susan and Michael Treadway, and Allen and Cheryl Keaser, all of Greenville; her in-laws, Cinda and Tom Deeter of New Madison; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

A 1977 graduate of Greenville High School, Darlene built a long and dedicated career in retail, beginning at Murphy’s in downtown Greenville, then serving as receiving manager at K-Mart for 31 years until its closing in 2014. That same year she joined Rural King as shipping and receiving manager, helping to open the Greenville store in the former K-Mart building, where she continued working until her health no longer allowed. She also found deep fulfillment assisting families during times of loss at Tribute Funeral Homes and Brockman Boeckman Funeral Home, often alongside members of her own family.

Darlene’s life revolved around her deep love for family, faith, and simple joys. A devoted member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, she gave countless hours volunteering at the school while her children attended. She looked forward each year to the Great Darke County Fair, where she supported her children’s dairy cattle shows and later worked with Greg at the Waymire Utility Barn booth. She cherished weekend shopping trips with her sister, summer camping at Grand Lake St. Marys, and annual beach vacations in Florida with her siblings, where she delighted in ocean sunsets and planting flowers at home. Above all, Darlene found her greatest happiness in her children and grandchildren, supporting them with unwavering encouragement, optimism, and a warm smile. Her kindness, strong faith, and steadfast love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
