September 25, 1943— March 5, 2026
Peekskill, NY
Darlene H. See passed away peacefully on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her family at home. Born on September 25, 1943, to the late Edward and Priscilla (Hill) Seaboldt, she was raised in Verplanck, New York, alongside her brother Robert Seaboldt, who predeceased her, and her step-brother Donald Rabe and his wife Cindy.
A 1961 graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, New York, Darlene worked at the IBM Research Center in Yorktown and the Itek Corporation in Ossining before serving for 18 years as a secretary in the Hendrick Hudson School District, retiring in 1999. In 1964 she married Raymond L. See of Buchanan, New York, in the same church where she had once sung in the choir. Together they raised two daughters, Kimberly and Coleen, in Verplanck, and later welcomed their devoted son-in-law Douglas Jessup, Coleen’s husband.
Darlene found deep purpose in helping others. Known for her calming presence, quiet wit, and infectious laugh, she touched everyone she met. She volunteered tirelessly for many organizations, including the Women’s Guild at Trinity Boscobel Church, where she helped knit prayer shawls, the Parent Faculty Club at Blue Mountain Middle School as co-president, the Tri-Village Junior Women’s Club as a charter member, the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of the Hudson Valley, the March of Dimes Northern Westchester Walkathon as co-chair, the American Cancer Society, and the Hendrick Hudson Educational Secretaries Association.
After retiring, Darlene and Ray spent more than 18 joyful years dividing their time between their winter home in Brooksville, Florida, and Peekskill, New York. She cherished playing bingo, mahjongg, and cards, hosting holiday gatherings for friends and family, and traveling together on cruises and other adventures. Her patience, kindness, and good deeds remain alive in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband Raymond, her daughters Kimberly and Coleen, her son-in-law Douglas, her step-brother Donald and his wife Cindy, and many dear friends.
