Darlene Childress Crouse

Mrs. Darlene Childress Crouse, age 83, of Thurmond, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2026, at her residence. Born on July 30, 1942, in Yadkin County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Alonzo Childress and the late Martha Jane Edwards Childress.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her loving husband, Tommy Crouse; her sisters, Ina Toney, Vernice Cockerham, and Ruby Lee Smith; and her brothers, Arestus Childress, Willie Ray Childress, George Childress, and Talmage Childress. She was a devoted wife, sister, and aunt who spent many years serving others as a CNA at Hugh Chatham Health.

Darlene will be remembered for her quiet strength, her deep care for family, and the steady presence she offered to those she loved. She leaves behind cherished memories with her surviving family and friends who will carry her gentle spirit in their hearts.
