Danny Wesley Sanford, age 78, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
A master carpenter who built several homes and owned small carpet mills, Danny was best known for his 35 years of dedicated service as a law enforcement officer. He loved his Lord and his family with his whole heart, placing them above all else. To his loved ones he was affectionately known as Huckleberry, Daddy, Dad, PawPaw, Pops, and PaPa Dan. A charter member of Homeland Baptist Church and later an active member of Holly Creek Baptist Church, he lived his faith every day.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Frankie Mae Dotson Sanford; his brothers David Sanford and Gene Sanford; and his sister, Rachel Sanford Rymer.
Danny is survived by his loving wife of nearly 33 years, Tammy F. Sanford; the mother of his two sons, Thomas Wesley Sanford (Megan Mickey) and Walker Bazemore (Madison); Wilma Bagley, mother of his daughter Pam Miles (Anthony); and his oldest son, Chuck Sanford (Tonya). He is also survived by his brother Wayne Sanford (Linda); grandchildren Tricia Tussing (Joshua), Todd Miles (Emily), Coty Sanford, and William “Bryson” Bazemore; and great-grandchildren Waylon Lane Tussing, Juddson Cash Tussing, Mayme Drew Miles, Brayden Cloer, Breanna Lemons, and Tatum Corbin.
