Danny Dunn

Danny Kay Dunn, age 79, of Greenville, West Virginia, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia. Born on April 21, 1946, in Wikel, West Virginia, he was the son of the late John Cramer and Leona Comer Dunn.

A lifelong member of the Old Baptist Church in Wikel, Danny served his country as a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran. He belonged to the VFW Post 6000 in Narrows, Virginia, the Rowe-Jones American Legion Post 145 in Peterstown, West Virginia, and the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter #1108 in Union, West Virginia. For many years he worked as a crew leader for the West Virginia Department of Highways. He found great joy in camping and in hunting with his family.

Danny was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Dunn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Dottie Thomas Dunn; two sons, Pat Dunn and wife Laurie of Daleville, Virginia, and Les Dunn and wife Angie of Floyd, Virginia; one daughter, Sally Murray and husband Gary of Bluefield, West Virginia; eight grandchildren, Alex, Andrew (Kaitlyn), Brady, Ashley, Kelsey (Josh), Kerrigan, Kenley, and Brooklyn; nine great-grandchildren and one on the way; and one sister, Patty Cole and husband Bobby of Wikel, West Virginia.
