Born on May 5, 1965, in Salem, MA, Dan was aman whose warmth and humor brought light into the lives of all who knew him.Dan grew up in Peabody, MA where he developed a passion for cars that lasted alifetime, turning his childhood hobby into a successful career as a mechanic. Hispassion for cars was evident to anyone who knew him. He wasn't just a man who fixedcars; he was a craftsman who could listen to an engine and understand its story. Hisdedication to his craft was matched only by his commitment to the people he served,earning him respect and friendship in equal measure.Dan's love for cars extended beyond the garage. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan,and weekends found him either at the racetrack or engrossed in the race on TV. Hislove for automobiles was not just about the machines themselves but about the joy andexcitement they brought to his life.Outside of his passion for cars, Dan enjoyed rooting for the New England Patriots andtried his best to never miss a game. Above all, Dan cherished time spent with his familyand found the most joy in his role as beloved "Papa", making his grandchildren laughwith his playful sense of humor.Dan was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Smith. He is survived by his lifetimepartner, Samantha Pasquarelli; his children, Brittney Smith, Nicole Linscott, and JohnPasquarelli; his beloved grandchildren, Nico Medina, Gianna Medina, Jacob Linscott,and Noah Linscott; his mother, Adele Smith; his stepmother, Donna Smith; his brother,Robert Smith; his sister, Kerry Smith; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, andnephews.Those who knew Dan will remember him as a man who was not only handy but alsofunny and friendly. His ability to spin a tale, coupled with his quick wit, made him the lifeof any gathering. His presence was a comfort, his laughter contagious, and hisfriendship a gift. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his loved onesand all who knew him.A Celebration of Life honoring Dan will be held on Friday, March 20 at 6:00 PM at theAOH Club on Boston Street, Salem MA.
