Daniel Ray "Danny" Richardson

January 25, 1956 March 15, 2026

Tahlequah, OK

Daniel Ray Richardson, born January 25, 1956, in Wichita, Kansas, to Kenneth and LuEllen Richardson, passed away surrounded by loved ones. The second oldest of five children, Danny grew up in the Noel, Missouri, area, attending McDonald County School from second through twelfth grade. Though he did not graduate, he pursued work and later studied watch repair at Okmulgee Tech.

Danny had a deep love for dogs that began in his youth, when he helped his parents raise a kennel and later trained German Shepherds for police work. He spent many years at Glass Masters, specializing in fiberglass boat repair, until his health no longer allowed it. He then moved to Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to live near his youngest sister and closest friend, Kristie, where he spent the last thirteen years of his life.

He is survived by his first love, Edwanda Phillips of Sulphur Springs; his three children, Mickel Richardson and wife April of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Brandy Freeman and husband David of Bolivar, Missouri, and Amelia Brannum and wife Jenny of Sulphur Springs, Arkansas; stepdaughter Susan Martin of Sulphur Springs; and his beloved dog Duke, who was nearly fifteen. He also leaves behind sisters Janice Cooper and partner Greg of Noel, Missouri, and Kristie Langston and husband Ray of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, along with many cousins, grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and LuEllen Richardson, sister Judith Richardson, and brother Kenneth Richardson.
