Daniel Ray LambMenneke

Daniel Ray LambMenneke

September 3, 1952 January 31, 2026

Des Moines, IA

Daniel Ray LambMenneke was born on September 3, 1952, in Algona, Iowa. A man of strong spirit and resilience, he cherished his family above all and took great pride in his roles as a father, grandfather, and brother in the church. Guided by a deep and abiding faith, Daniel loved God and served faithfully in the same church for more than thirty years. His beliefs shaped his life and formed the foundation for the values he instilled in his children.

Intellectually gifted with a brilliant mind and an exceptionally high IQ, Daniel possessed a lifelong passion for learning. He particularly enjoyed solving complex mathematical problems and puzzles. This love of knowledge led him to a distinguished career as a college professor, where he was widely known and respected as “Dr. Lamb.” Disciplined and well-organized, he lived frugally and practiced careful stewardship of his resources. Warm and engaging, he loved to joke, converse, and connect with others, enjoying good food and good company.

Daniel was married three times, to Char, Deb, and Patricia. Shaped by life’s experiences, he sought to live according to his faith and convictions. Deeply protective of his family, he carried himself with discernment and remained committed to doing what he believed was right.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia LambMenneke; his children, Andrea Gutierrez (Eli Gutierrez) and Judith Sahara LambMenneke Chiles (Lamont Chiles); a host of grandchildren; and his siblings, Sharon, Roger, Brenda, and Diane. He was preceded in death by his son, his parents, Arthur and Lois Menneke, and his siblings, Kristy and Ronnie.
