Daniel Paul Kant, age 56, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on March 5, 2026.

Born on November 23, 1969 in Springfield, Minnesota, Dan was the son of Rev. Robert and Irene (née Sidlik) Kant. He was baptized on December 7, 1969 and confirmed in his faith at Cross Evangelical Lutheran Church in Rockford, Minnesota on April 15, 1984. Dan attended Salem Lutheran School in Greenfield, Minnesota and graduated from West Lutheran High School in Plymouth, Minnesota in 1988. He went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee in 1995.

Dan spent most of his career in sales, working the last ten years at United Health Care in Minneapolis. A devoted Minnesota sports fan, he especially loved the Timberwolves. He enjoyed attending games, playing fantasy football, and even worked briefly selling season tickets for the Timberwolves. A longtime member of King of Grace Lutheran Church in Golden Valley, he served as an usher and on the membership board. Above all, Dan cherished time with his family and friends. He remained close to his siblings and took great delight in his many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his siblings, Tim and Sue Kant of West Allis, Wisconsin, Judith Kant of South Lake Tahoe, California, Marsha and John Hooge of LeRoy, Minnesota, Janice and Rev. Matthew Rauh of Arlington, Minnesota, and Rev. Will and Jill Kant of Vallejo, California; his stepmother Roxie Dunham of St. Peter, Minnesota and her family; his many nieces and nephews, Amy and Paul Ridenour, Andy and Jenn Kant, Emily and Matt Schlimme, Joshua and Amberlina Kant-Wood, Christina and Ryan Vanterpool, Sarah and Seth Ongstad, Jenna and Christian Schmidt, Caitlin and Erik Gibson, Maggie and Zak Fick, William Rauh, Robert Rauh, Kaleigh and Jeff Gabie, and Amanda and Jonah Plocher; great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Robert and Irene Kant.
