Daniel Lawrence Kauffman

Daniel Lawrence Kauffman, 85, of Atglen, Pennsylvania, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Lancaster General Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Joyce L. Gordon Kauffman, who died in 2017. Together they shared more than 54 years of marriage. Born in Parkesburg, he was the son of the late Ammon Kauffman and Sarah Smoker Kauffman.

A lifelong resident of the area, Dan graduated from Lancaster Mennonite High School. He worked at Keens Feed and Lumber Mill in Parkesburg, Medford and Dunlevee Oil Company, and retired in 2003 from Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville as a first-class machinist. He found great joy in hunting and fishing, attending local sales, visiting the Rough and Tumble Historical Association events in Kinzers, and spending time at the family hunting cabin in Potter County. A loyal supporter of Philadelphia sports, he was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

Dan is survived by his daughter, Jacqueline Ann Kauffman of Atglen; five siblings, Ruthanna and husband Dale of Ephrata, Chester Kauffman and wife Grace of Michigan, James Kauffman and wife Doris of Lancaster, Clair Kauffman of York, and Steven Kauffman of New Holland; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Merle Kauffman.
